DLAP-411-Orin: Faster Edge AI applications with Jetson Orin
The constantly growing requirements of processor power are typical for industrial AI operations, robotics applications and automation architecture. Controlling, monitoring and evaluating processes, machines and systems assume large data quantities and complex algorithms. Their calculation requires specialist hardware and a high bandwidth for data communication. As a response to these challenges, Acceed has now added the new Edge AI platform DLAP-411-Orin to its programme.
The AI inference platform DLAP-411-Orin is driven by the Jetson AGX Orin Engine, which is equipped with the 8/12-core 64 bit Carmel-Arm CPU and the 1792/2048-core Ampere-GPU. The controller is available in several versions, equipped with 64 or 32 GB RAM, but always with 64 GB eMMC version 5.1 memory in addition to a large number of inputs, outputs and extension options. With the AGX-Orin module, Nvidia has taken a huge stride forwards regarding AI processor power for autonomous system applications. It provides up to 275 TOPS and has an energy budget of 15 W to 60 W. With it, an up to eight times higher performance than for the previous generation’s Xavier module, but with an identical compression ratio.
The DLAP-411 Orin HDMI interface provides a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels at 60 Hz. Four USB 3.2 Gen2-ports and four 10/100/1000 Mbps network connections (PoE optional) are located on the front side, augmented with the audio input, the line output (stereo) and two 26-pin D-Sub connections for GPIO, I2C and SPI. As further I/O connections, a type C (OTG) USB 3.2 Gen2 port, the serial interface RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 (DB9) and an insulated CAN bus port 2.0b (DB9) are located on the reverse side. Internal type M.2 M, PCIe Gen4, M.2 B and M.2 E interfaces are available for optional extensions, for example for 5G/LTRE or Wi-Fi 5/6 as well as a micro SIM slot and out-of-band (OOB) support via Ethernet and Wi-Fi for remote administration. With this equipment, the DLAP-411-Orin is the ideal platform when working with AI applications based on image data, such as the video streams from connected cameras.
Finally, the DLAP-411-Orin offers an Edge-native and Web-based platform for the configuration, monitoring and management of applications which run via EdgeGO on the devices connected.
The DLAP-411-Orin was developed for industrial application under demanding conditions and allows operation in the extended temperature range from -20 to +60 °C, depending on the equipment. The voltage supply is provided with 24 V DC. The robust full-metal chassis is highly compact with its 175 x 145 x 85 mm.
The AI platforms from Adlink are available from their official sales partner in Germany, Acceed. The focus is placed on industrial Ethernet, embedded AI, ready-for-use IPCs for automation, building management, logistics, machine vision as well as research and development.
