Nuvo-9166GC: AI controller from Acceed equipped for robust application

The inference AI controller Nuvo-9166GC is the latest model from the renowned manufacturer Neousys and now available from the German distributor Acceed. Above all, its combination of robustness meeting industry requirements, individual expansion options for example for cameras, and server-based inference performance as required for current and future artificial intelligence. The platform, which can be configured in accordance with the customers’ wishes supports the latest GPU card 1.4 from Nvidia and provides the 13th generation (Raptor Lake) with a processor power of up to 30 TeraFLOPS.

The robust construction of the new AI controller Nuvo-9166GC, which allows reliable system operation at demanding environmental temperatures from -25 to +60 °C based on its passive cooling system for the CPU and working memory, is particularly interesting for industrial and security-relevant applications. Acceed offers equipping with a special SSD or HDD for extremely low temperature ranges. Moreover, a wide voltage range is supported. This property is advantageous for installations where constant voltage is not always given.

With its individual selection of performance features, (CPU, interfaces, customer-specific Mezzanine boards), the Nuvo-9166GC can hardly be overtrumped a propos adaptability and sustainability. The important interfaces are 5 × 2.5 gigabit Ethernet plus 1 × gigabit Ethernet (optional with PoE), in total 12 × USB (of which 7 × USB 3.2), MezIO interface, PCIe cassette, mini PCIe base and M.2 slot, for example for mobile communication modules.

As an alternative to or extension of the integrated graphics unit Intel HD Graphics 770, the controller supports the high-performance graphics card L4 from Nvidia, which comes up with 2.5 times higher performance than the previous generation in the area of generative AI (image and text data inference). As a solution for video applications, such as live streaming or augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), up to 1,040 simultaneous AV1 video-streams can be hosted at 720p30 for mobile users.

The Nuvo-9166GC working memory can be extended up to 64 GB (DDR5 4800 SDRAM), 2 internal SATA ports (2.5“ SSD/HDD) with RAID support are available for hard drives, moreover an M.2 slot for NVMe-SSD. In addition to the normal graphics outputs for Box computers, DVI-D and VGA, a universal DisplayPort which supports 4K2K resolution up to 4096 × 2304 pixels is provided.

End-customer specific I/O functions can be implemented cheaply using optional Mezzanine cards (MezIO modules with serial interfaces, digital I/O interfaces, LVDS output, CAN Bus, DTIO or memory extension).

GPU-supported AI performance, industry-geared robustness and its exceptional functional diversity predestine the Nuvo-9166GC as an Edge AI inference platform for demanding applications, for example in the areas of manufacturing control, video analysis, streaming, logistics, building automation and autonomous robots (AMR). The accessories offered include matching power supplies and vibration-reducing mounting brackets.

Acceed informs in detail of the configuration options for the new Nuvo-9166GC and further AI controllers, Box PCs and components for demanding environments and tasks.
