The Nuvo-11000 series is Neousys’ flagship rugged embedded computer, powered by Intel® Core™ Ultra 200 processors with up to 24 cores/threads, DDR5-6400 memory, PCIe Gen5, and an integrated NPU delivering up to 36 TOPs for AI workloads. Edge AI applications often mean that the hardware used is housed in tightly dimensioned enclosures, ducts or narrow boxes. Enclosures are unavoidable to protect against environmental influences, but air circulation and thus cooling suffer just as inevitably. The NRU-156U3-FT AI controller from Acceed now scores points with a new fanless chassis design for installation in confined spaces with reduced airflow and simultaneous operation at high ambient temperatures. The full-surface, flat heat sink maximises cooling efficiency across the entire top of the housing, enabling efficient heat dissipation even with reduced air circulation. The robust embedded PC has six USB interfaces (3.2) and is designed for operation at ambient temperatures from -25 to +60 °C.

Good cooling, or more precisely effective heat dissipation, is a not insignificant factor when it comes to operational reliability and performance in the case of built-in computers, the embedded controllers in demand for industrial applications. Traditionally, extensive ribbed heat sinks are used here, which are mounted on the actual housing. The experienced manufacturer Neousys is taking a different approach with its new Nuvo-9531-FT model series, which is available from Acceed.

The successful NRU series for edge AI applications from German distributor Acceed has received a special addition. The already fanless chassis design for operation at high temperatures has been further optimised thanks to an unusual redesign. The now full-surface, flat heat sink maximises cooling efficiency across the entire top of the housing, allowing the controller to be used in closed housings or confined spaces with reduced airflow. The robust NRU-154PoE-FT has four GbE interfaces (2.5 Gb) with PoE and is designed for operation in ambient temperatures from -25 to +60 °C.
